June 17th 366 challenge

6/17/12

Happy Father's Day to the father of my children... Tom was 'so' surprised to get a fishing permit for Father's Day... can you see his signature is already on it?  :)  He needs a new shirt... his old one wore out.  The "This is what a GREAT DAD looks like" shirt.

Happy Father's Day to my dad, all the great dads out there as well as all those who will become great dads.

And here's hoping my sons will follow their examples and be great dads someday as well.

June 13th 366 challenge

6/13/12

This baby pack has gotten so much great use over the few years since one of my online friends sent it to me!  I love it!  Here Juliana slept through cannon fire, gunshots (blanks), and thousands of cheering Cub Scouts and family members.  We love Cub Scout Day Camp.

June 12th 366 challenge

6/12/12

Sweet baby girl... she's getting so big!  For her 2 month birthday, she slept from 12 midnight to 7 am... (on a night when I was up until 1 am helping Christopher and up at 6 am getting 3 guys out the door for Cub Scout Day Camp!

June 11th 366 challenge

6/11/12

Tom, Michael, and Nathanael after their first day of Cub Scout Day Camp.  Michael is a Boy Scout staff member.  Note the little things pinned to his shirt that the different packs made for the staff members.  Oh, and this is the third generation of Valencic Cub Scout Day camp fanatics... oops, I mean workers.  :)  Tom is one of our ward's walking leaders, though he plans on being staff next year, and Nathanael is, well, a Cub Scout attendee.  Next year we will have one more staff member and one more Cub Scout.  (Benjamin and Samuel.)

Crazy fun summer!  This is our second camp event for our family.  The third, and last, will be the 10 days of Boy Scout camp, though they will come home for Sunday.

Youth Conference doesn't count as camp, but that will be fun, too.

June 10th 366 challenge

6/10/12

Timothy doing one of his favorite things... 'reading'.  He loves anything with numbers.  He has a few sight words he's great at, but mostly is just looking for stuff he already knows.

June 9th 366 challenge

6/9/12

I feel almost unnecessary... I put Juliana down on the floor for some tummy time.  Christopher wanted to read his Clifford book to her.  She was still happy so he read several more to her... and then she fell asleep.  Yes, baby is asleep on the floor with 10 other people walking around... and no, not quietly.

She can sleep where ever she wants to.

2 + years later.

My brother Jeff and his bride!  They got married last week.  Ethan, who lives here in Kansas City, sitting next to his dad, and Marie holding my baby girl.  So glad to have family visit!

Liberty reading a family favorite... "Chicka Chicka Boom Boom" in board book format.

June 4th 366 challenge

6/4/12

Yay for Family Home Evening, where there's always "a treat in store."

It's hard getting the habit established.  When we first had Michael and then Benjamin, we made sure we always had the same treat... ice cream... and we had two very willing little boys when we said "Family Home Evening!"

We don't always have ice cream anymore, but it is still a positive thing when Mom and Dad say, "Time for Family Home Evening!"
