Emilie has been making bread the last two days so I don't have to. She's getting really good at using the bread machine :)
The adventures, both educational and maybe not so much, of our family, day in and day out.

February 27th 366 challenge
2/27/12
Only having one in diapers (trust me, that's a new thing.) has allowed us tostack stock up on diapers and combining sales to get both Liberty's size and the new baby's size. We didn't get newborns... our babies' sizes don't usually mix with newborn size diapers. (6 of the last 7 started out over 8 lbs... 3 of them over 8 1/2 lbs). If baby girl is small, we can go get a pack at a time of newborns... So here you see our tower of sizes 1 and 2 diapers, ready to last what, a week? j/k... kind of. My little guys (namely Christopher) is SO excited to put tiny diapers on the new baby.

First baby gifts... flowered blanket from a good friend who happens to be 10, monkey jammies, hat, bib, and fuzzy animal blanket from a kind of aunt :), and a hat from the place that did our first ultrasound back in early November. Just pulling these out remind me that pretty soon, we're going to be holding another little bundle in pink!

Year's supply of bandaids! Of course, that depends on whether we are more or less accident prone than usual... this is 720 bandaids... great deal at woot.com the other day. Maybe it'll last us 2 years...

New car seat! I love the color. This was on sale at Target.com. This is our 4th infant car seat in 16 years... the first two were hand me downs (one for Michael that we used for two kids, then again for Emilie that we used for three kids including Joseph) and then we needed one when Samuel was born, 7 years ago. That one lasted through 4 babies since we got it NEW from some of my siblings as a baby gift :) Since that was past the destroy date, here we go again. Sure, it's blue, but it's a nice bright blue that would be cute for a girl, too!
Liberty knows it's for the baby... but she's starting to act like she's confused as to whether SHE is the baby or not... we're working on that. We have time.

So Tom ignored our tradition of only buying chocolate AFTER Valentines, when it is all on clearance. His reasoning? Well, with my discount it's just as good... then we can go buy competitor's chocolate on clearance. So he surprised me with this ginormous heart, the biggest Russell Stover makes, we think. He'd know. And yes, I held it in front of the big baby belly. Only one pregnant picture per pregnancy! And we do that right before baby is born LOL. And no, I'm not sharing. This will last me the rest of the pregnancy.

Uncomfortable Blessings
I don't know if it is because of the two miscarriages last year and how it seems longer between babies than my other pregnancies, but this pregnancy I am really aware of each and every day. This pregnancy, more so than with others, stories have come to my attention about babies dying in the womb, being born still, cord accidents, and near misses. That kind of thing. It definitely changes how I view certain discomforts.
For example, the little nudge that feels like it broke my tailbone. (one of my kids definitely bruised it!) Or the rollover that took my breath away. Or the kicks that make my heart skip a beat (literally) or start racing. Or the push that almost dislocates a rib. At least she's still making her presence known. Even the movements that make me race for the bathroom or hurt enough to cause tears to fall are blessings. This, too, shall pass, and hopefully sometime in April (or March) this baby will be here in my arms instead of just below my heart. Sometimes causing it to hurt physically. Always tied to it emotionally. Along with my other 9 blessings in disguise. Forever!

This is a nazar boncuÄŸu from Turkey. Our brother in law Cameron brought it back with him for us. It is supposed to ward off the evil eye. It's also sparkly :) Here is a link to more about it from Wikipedia.
